The New Generation: A Manifesto
It was once said to me that I should “leave the important issues to the free thinkers of this country”. This struck me as an interesting argument considering the leftist, big government ideology has been around ever since there was a government to grow. The conservative movement did not take shape until the 20th century when a small group of intellectuals broke the mold and began advocating smaller government, more liberty, and a return to the Classical Liberal principles which founded this country.
The history of the modern conservative movement is one of intellectual struggle and pariah. It began with the first free thinkers in this country since the founding. Men like Russell Kirk, Ralph DeToledano, Willmore Kendall, Fredrich Hayek, and William F. Buckley Jr. These men brought an old idea back from obscurity, an idea which was first brought to the halls of the modern Capitol by men like Barry Goldwater, and was brought out of its journalistic cocoon by the likes of Ronald Reagan. The idea of Classical Liberalism, or present day Conservatism. Every Conservative should ask themselves, "what am I trying to conserve?" the answer should be: the classical liberalism that founded America.
This is an idea which today is not being kept alive and burning by savy journalists and intrepid politicians; it is an idea, a movement being kept alive by all of us; the American people. The American people that are still willing to stand up for what’s right. The people who are brave enough to attempt to make it on their own, without the government holding their hand from the cradle to the grave. In a conservative’s mind the government is here for protection, government is here to create favorable conditions which will allow free people to prosper, and to help those who can’t quite make it pull themselves up by their boot straps. In a liberal’s mind, the government is here to protect us from ourselves, and they should help those who can’t quite make it by picking them up, tying their shoes for them, dusting them off, and helping them cross the street.
Having said this, we have reached a point where the Conservative movement can no longer stand up to the proggresive propaganda machine. Funded by the likes of George Soros, Jeff Emelt, Warren Buffet, and the Hollywood elite, this propaganda machine has hijacked the political debate in this country. No one seemed to notice this until Obama took office and began his gradual, covert and overt assault on the American individual, and the American people are finally rising up to the constant intrusions of this government.
Because the Republican Party has become a moderate party with Conservative elements, and has been co-opted by the progressive movement, because we can no longer rely on Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, Rush Limbaugh, or Glenn Beck, OUR Generation of Conservatives has to take it upon itself to bring about our message and get honest, non-elitists elected officials who know what needs to be done for the betterment of ALL Americans and are willing to take a political bullet to defend it. We can no longer be the silent majority. We need to rise up and speak REAL truth to power. We can no longer afford to elect moderates in our primaries; we can no longer afford to settle. We can no longer accept the status quo when politicians lie, even if it favors our point of view. We are better than that. We are intellectually honest. We are rational, and we know that America’s freedom is at stake.
We are The New Generation. A generation that will no longer sit idly by while our Constitution gets violated by politicians seeking votes, and politically charged “community organizations” seeking to trick the people into believing in the big government ideology of the past. The difference between us and President Clinton is that we actually mean this: “THE ERA OF BIG GOVERNMENT IS OVER”.
We are The New Generation. Taking the torch from President Reagan, Barry Goldwater, Ron Paul, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and other great Americans who have served this country well, and have given the movement the credit it deserves and a fighting chance against the liberal establishment. We are taking that torch and handing it off to the likes of Mike Church, and Andrew Wilkow. We are taking that torch and electing intellectually honest politicians like Jim DeMint, Marco Rubio, Allen West, Mike Lee, Nikki Haley, Bobby Jindal, Rand Paul and many others who are ready and willing to take that torch and bring about the conservative revolution this country is craving.
We are active. We take the fight to the progressive's face. We will not allow proggresives to steal the debate any longer. We will go to the town halls, we will go to our states capitols, we will march on Washington and we will make our principles known and we will fight for them, and NEVER apologize for them, because we know that we are right. We are the people. We are The New Generation. KEEP UP THE FIRE!
